Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well and surviving these busy end of term times. The TSU is hosting another social event to celebrate the end of another semester and to clean up the 4th floor lounge space before we leave for Christmas; this includes the fridge. You are all invited to this Potluck style get together on the evening of Monday, December 5 (following the final Playmaking class at 5:30pm). The second year ensemble can join us at 6:20pm!

We'll be holding a mini (informal) meeting at 5:30 to finish off the semester.
Come enjoy yourselves, bring a dish to share, and celebrate the long awaited last day of classes!

If you have any questions or suggestions don't hesitate to contact me.

Looking forward to seeing all of you next Monday,

Manuela Sosa

I just looked at what was put on the website, and it is a bit confusing, because the style numbers aren't on there for sizing.

Style Numbers:

Tank tops #2200
T-Shirts #2000
Hoodies #9500
Sweatpants #2300

Then using the number from above, it corresponds to each garment and is listed by style number on the chart.

Cheers,
Robyn

Hello everyone,

I hope you've heard by now that the university is conducting an extensive consultation process about food services on the Burnaby campus. If you haven't had a chance to complete the survey yet, I encourage you to do so this week. The survey is open to everyone.
www.sfu.ca/foodforthought
The reason for this consultation is two-fold: First, SFU consistently receives poor rankings in national surveys of campus food services. Second, the current contract with the university's food service provider, Chartwells, is coming to an end after about 11 years. This provides the university with a good opportunity to evaluate its options for improving food services for the coming years.

Finally, I've made sure that this consultation is extending beyond Chartwells to include our own Food and Beverage Services and our vendors in the Maggie Benston Centre. The results will be released in the Spring and will be helpful in our own operations.

Kind regards,

President & Board of Directors

RE: Student Space Consultations Dear undergraduate SFU students,

We are writing to inform you that the SFSS Board of Directors is seeking to collaborate with all SFU student groups to engage in a large-scale student space consultation. The goal of this consultation is to define the term “student space,” recognizing that it means different things for different students. This process will provide information on what can be done to meet student needs for these different definitions. The initial project parameters are outlined in the attached SMART template.

We encourage you or a representative from your organization to join the Student Space Working Group, which is inclusive to all students and campus groups. This working group will make decisions regarding the process that the full consultation will take and the questions that will be asked; the group will also carry out the consultation process once it is developed. In order to join the working group, please email the Chair, Arry Dhillon, at atlarge1@sfss.ca with the subject line “Student Space Working Group.” Please contact the Chair by Friday, November 18, at 4:00 PM.

As a member of the working group, you would be expected to participate in the following activities:

  • Brainstorm ideas for developing a consultation process

  • Help to develop survey questions

  • Attend regular meetings

  • Communicate the process to students

  • Encourage student participation in the consultation

  • Liaise with campus groups

It is important that all students and campus groups have the opportunity to be part of this working group and consultation process to achieve the most comprehensive results possible. We look forward to working with you to learn more about the need for student space. Thank you for your interest in this project and please distribute this document widely.

    Sincerely,

Jeff McCann Arry Dhillon Marc Fontaine
President At-Large Representative University Relations Officer
