Message from Milton Lim, President of the TSU:
For the past week I have been researching more into the details of the situation for two reasons:
1) To be better informed for the sake of our Union
2) For personal connection to the office staff that I've worked with for close to three years as part of the TSU Exec.
I'm torn as I watch many people choose sides in this debate, when I contest that this is an issue we should work on together; I don't believe we can argue on ideology or finances alone.
I have been attending meetings with Jeff McCann (President of the SFSS) and have met with both the office staff and Board members alike. My goal at the moment is to devise a proposal that readjusts the SFSS finances to fix a structural deficit, end the Lockout with the integrity of the office staff in mind, and propose some ideas for the referendum voting next March. Even though this is an ambitious undertaking, I have faith that we can restore accountability to our Student Society (the one you are all a part of and pay money to) with the necessary amount of tact to keep the masses at bay.
With this in mind, I encourage all of you to look into the situation, ask me questions, even help me with some ideas if you wish. I would also like to suggest coming to President Jeff McCann's open information sessions on Burnaby campus for much more information [Wednesday & Friday @ 3pm, Blusson Hall, Rm 10901].

With these circumstances in mind, I ask everyone for support.
Support for our office staff, support for the SFSS Board of Directors, and support for everyone who wants better for SFU's Student Society. These are vulnerable times for many people right now and the best we can give is a little humility for the situation at hand.
I will do my best to keep the Union updated as things progress.
All the best everyone,
Nicholas will be keeping you up to date on current events, auditions, shows, and more through this page. We'll be keeping you posted.
